I hadn't heard from anyone yesterday and I was eager to find out how the retrieval went so finally I called "E and T". "T" answered and he said they had a very sad morning. When the doctor went in to retrieve "E"'s two eggs he found that the follicles were empty. No eggs to retrieve. So they made the decision then to thaw their last two embryos and use them for the transfer instead of stopping and starting all over again. Now we are just waiting to hear if the embryos will thaw out and live. We won't even know till Saturday night if we will have anything to implant Sunday. "E and T" had told me before that one of their embryos is large and strong and the other is smaller, but little weak embryos have been known to make great babies so we are praying and hoping for a successful thaw and that both embryos will survive.
If this transfer is not successful, the doctor is still confident that 'E' can produce eggs so they are hopeful that we could do another fresh transfer if we all need to. It would be perfect however if the frozen embryos will thaw and implant and a pregnancy can be established with them. We will see...
